Deshaun Watson in a great abyss regarding his current sexual allegations

NFL star Deshaun Watson has been sued by more than seven women for sexually assaulting them back during the end of 2020.

Alongside the buzz of the opening of the new league season, Watson has been in the spotlight due to the accusations of sexual assault and harassment.

Initially, the cases came to the limelight on March 18, 2021.

As for the foremost woman who filed a lawsuit through Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, she stated Watson to force her for oral sex.

Also, the case was first presented on the Harris County district clerk’s website.

In-depth with the Case

As a matter of fact, it was the Houston attorney Tony Buzbee who bought the matter into the public. Apparently, he shared the news with ESPN and was later published. 

As per Buzbee’s Instagram handle, there is a total of nine cases against Watson. Among the first three cases, it stated that Watson had committed “civil assault.”

Similarly, the other four cases stated that they were forced for oral sex and inappropriate touchings.

Altogether, there have been seven cases in the media among those nine. However, they haven’t yet revealed the names and identities of the women.

Most importantly, what is known that they are all the ones working in a spa or giving massages.

According to them, Watson first contacted them for massage therapy sessions but ended up forcing them into his inappropriate behavior.

The Ongoing Issues…

Apparently, the cases that have been filed to date are all represented by the Houston attorney Tony Buzbee.

Furthermore, the women who have filed cases were all from the Houston area, except one who is from Atlanta.

Not to mention, all the cases were filed separately; however, they all demand the same.

As per the sources, the women are suing Watson for $500 in damages while seeking compensation as well as court costs.

Consequently, the Houston police have also declined to give any information regarding the case. It was also revealed that even the Harris County district attorney’s office had no access to the details of the case. 

According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, they are also doing their personal survey as per the league’s personal conduct policy.

“We became aware of a civil lawsuit involving Deshaun Watson through a social media post. This is the first time we heard of the matter. We take accusations of this nature that involve anyone within the Houston Texans organization seriously. We do not anticipate making any additional statements until the NFL’s investigation concludes.”

In favor of Deshaun Watson

Keeping the case in mind, of course, Deshaun Watson has denied all the accusations firmly. As the team decided to close the case with NFL’s investigation, Watson had tweeted his thoughts a few days back. 

“I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect.”

Alongside these words, he had added that the lawsuit against him was baseless, while the figures’ demanding the settlement of the case as well.

Additionally, he stated that he would look forward to clearing his name soon. Well, standing alongside Watson is his Houston-based attorney, Rusty Hardin.

According to ESPN, Hardin agreed to work in the case for Watson. Besides, Hardin portrayed his work as a proud moment to stand for Watson against those meritless allegations.

“I’m real comfortable with the kind of person that Deshaun Watson is, and I don’t like to publicly comment until I get all the facts. We will wait to comment in detail until we’ve completed our review of the numerous, evolving allegations from Mr. Buzbee.”

Besides, Watson’s agent David Mulugheta was also quick to post his thoughts as a tweet during the timeframe.

Apparently, he stated both side’s views, which asking victims to be heard and to be aware of the false allegations. 

Alongside, he had portrayed the facts that the false accusations are in a rare amount, but they do prevail. 

“Sexual assault is real. Victims should be heard, offenders prosecuted.” 

As a whole…

While the case is still ongoing, and as both sides have started the words, it’s time for the facts.

According to CNN, they haven’t yet received a comment from the Houston Police Department regarding the claims.

Thus, Buzbee had made a statement;

“It is our intention for the clients that are willing to do so, to put together a package and to submit it to the Houston Police Department of the information that we have.”

However, many have also stated that Buzbee made a false statement regarding the lawsuit and police investigating him.

But nothing is certain, so it’s only the time that will tell!
