Elmas stepped in after the world champions four times in charge of the game. However, they struggled to turn around.

Aside from 70% of German control in the first half and Leon Goretzka firing on the shortcut, the visitors scored when 37-year-old Goran Pandev was left unmarked in the box to hold home during the first half suspension.

The German soldiers put their opponents in the ring in their own right. However, Serge Gnabry‘s effort had little to show until Leroy Sane got dropped from the box.

Gundogan’s 63rd-minute penalty bounced off the management. But despite the late pressure and Timo Werner‘s golden chance 10 minutes from time, Germany could not find a winner.

Chelsea striker Timo Werner missed an excellent chance to get Joachim Low’s side ahead of the North Macedonia winner but somehow fired from a distance.
