Jeremy Tyler: Early Life and Education

On June 12, 1991, Jeremy Tyler was born in San Diego, California, United States. He was born to James Tyler (father) and Misty Cabrouet (mother).

He was such an extraordinary bright kid who matured from his childhood. Besides, as per his mother, Tyler even potty trained himself, and no one had to help him.

Tyler’s parents have always supported him no matter what he did. As mentioned earlier, Jeremy is the apple of his mother’s eye. Apart from that, he has a brother named James Tyler Jr.

It is not that James had a great childhood, but he got everything his parents could afford, so we can say his childhood was fun.

Jeremy went to San Diego High School, and in his junior year, he averaged 28.7 points in 2008.

Jeremy let go of his last year of high school and college to pursue his career in basketball. He was committed to the University of Louisville in 2009.

Jeremy Tyler: Career

After leaving his studies in the middle, Jeremy announced that he wanted to play basketball abroad.

And fortunately, his wish came true in 2009 he was signed by Maccabi Haifa of the Israeli Super League.

Tyler was doing well there, but he had to leave Maccabi in one year. It was because of the internal disputes and disagreements between the club and Tyler. However, the exact reason for the dispute has not been disclosed yet.

After leaving the Maccabi club, Tyler in 2010 was signed by one Japanese club named Tokyo Apache. He played thirty-three games in total and averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

NBA Career

Jeremy’s biggest dream came true in 2011 when he finally got a chance to be a part of the NBA.

At first, he was drafted by Charlotte Bobcats, but later, Golden State Warriors brought him to their team after paying certain cash to the Bobcats.

But in 2012, he was again traded to Dakota Wizards. As Tyler was a rookie, he was not given enough playtime.

But in the same year, Tyler proved his worth and played well in the match against New Orleans Hornets.

The same year, he again joined the Warriors for the second season. But he could not perform as expected and was unsuccessful in making enough fame for himself.

In 2013,  the Warriors again traded Jeremy to Atlanta Hawks, but he was only sent in the court once during his tenure there. So, Atlanta released Tyler after one month of hiring him.

After constant losses and average performances, Tyler was not getting much recognition from big clubs. As a result, he had to play in D-League in 2013 July.

But in March of 2013, Tyler was again signed by New York Knicks. But there also after two months of hiring Tyler, they released him.

Furthermore,

In 2014 Tyler scored his career-high of 17 points and five rebounds, and two blocks after being resigned by Knicks again.

Then, Tyler got a chance to play for CBA; he played forty-one games and made 22.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Therefore, from 2015 to 2021, he appeared in many teams, from Fujian Sturgeons to Tianjin Ronggang to Sydney Kings, but he could not perform well, and he could not sustain in the team for a long time.

That is why Tyler is considered to be one underrated player. He was underrated because no team gave him an excellent opportunity to prove himself even though he had potential.

So, what might be the reason for Jeremy not getting enough recognition even though he is a good player? Jeremy could have done far better in his homeland, but he tried his hands on international basketball, which is good, but in Jeremy’s case, it was not.

Due to the cultural differences, he could not perform well; neither could he adapt to their culture nor try to understand Tyler. Plus, he was distracted; he did not know what he wanted and where he wanted to be.

One time, his coach even called him lazy and out of shape. Besides, his team captain called him soft, so we can imagine Tyler’s image before everyone, which eventually resulted in his downfall.
