Gideon George Withdraws From NBA Draft

 BYU forward, Gideon George, has reportedly dropped out of the NBA Draft and will return to Provo for his last season with the Cougars.

George had recently worked out for a number of NBA teams, including the Utah Jazz.

Though deciding to return to BYU before the end of May, George has until June 13 to make a final decision on the pre-draft process, which is the early entrant withdrawal date.

George transferred to BYU ahead of the 2020-21 season after playing at New Mexico Junior College.

George will return to a BYU basketball program that is in the midst of its final season in the West Coast Conference.

Gideon entered the NBA Draft process shortly after the last season. He also briefly registered for the NCAA Transfer Portal before withdrawing his name.

He averaged 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.2 blocks, and 0.4 steals a game in his two seasons with the Cougars. He made 42.6 percent of his shots overall and 34.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.
