Phoenix Sproles dad, Efonda Sproles, shares a good relationship with the football player despite the divorce. The father-son duo is seen going back and forth on social media.
Recently, Efonda shared an X post of his son’s interview before he played his final college football game for the Dukes. The entire family was excited to see Phoenix play his last game, but unfortunately, the Dukes lost against the Air Force Falcons in the Armed Forces Bowl game.
The wide receiver joined Dukes after spending five seasons with North Dakota State. He played in 50 career games with 29 starts at receiver. Sproles played at Robbinsdale Cooper High School, where he had his stepfather, Willie Howard, to guide him.
Phoenix comes from a family of high achievers, with his family involved in athletics or the medical field. His younger half-brother, Jaxon, plays college ball at LSU and is the No. 1 rated player in Minnesota for the Class of 2023.

Phoenix Sproles dad, Efonda Sproles, is a University of Northern Iowa graduate. He pursued his degree in communication, and while doing so, he also competed as a wrestler.
At Iowa, Efonda was also named to the All-American team. After graduation, Efonda never pursued wrestling at a professional level. In 1994, he became a senior area director for Life Time Fitness, a position he held for 15 years.
After taking a break from the company, Life Time Fitness, Efonda joined Sequel Response as their Vice President of Marketing. He worked at the mail marketing firm based in Minneapolis for 11 months before joining Aliaan Insurance Agency.
He worked at Aliaan as a general agent before once again changing his workplace. This time, he became the director of marketing and sales at Ernest I. Fink Agency.
In 2015, Efonda returned to Life Time Fitness, but this time as their senior director/chief scout. But before returning to Life Time, Efonda had established the company E-tegrity, which worked under Life Time to discover talent nationwide.
Efonda has already separated from Phoenix’s mom, Chaconas Howard. Efonda and Chaconas shared two kids. He is married to Gerry Haeger, who like her husband, was previously married.
On his Instagram bio, Efonda has proudly stated he is a father to three and stepfather to three kids. He is also a grandfather to one, with whom he recently shared a snap on his Instagram handle.
Phoenix Sproles Mom Chaconas Howard
Phoenix Sproles mom, Chaconas Howard, is a registered nurse at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. She has years of experience in the medical field and previously worked as a Trauma Neuro Surgical Nurse Manager at North Memorial Health.
Chaconas Howard had completed her high school education at Rosemount High School in 1990. She joined St. Catherine University in 2002, more than a decade later, so she could begin her nursing journey.
She completed her nursing degree in 2008 and began working as a nurse in 2013 at Fairview Health Services. After divorcing Efonda, Chaconas Howard tied the knot with Willie Howard.
Phoenix says Willie had a huge impact on him. The father-son duo was also a coach-player duo when Phoenix played high school ball at Robbinsdale Cooper.
At Robbinsdale, Willie Howard is the activities director and as well as the assistant principal. Willie graduated from Stanford and even worked there for a few years.
Phoenix Sproles Siblings
Phoenix Sproles has many siblings, but Sterling Sproles is his only biological sibling. Sterling followed in her mother’s footsteps and graduated from North Dakota State University with a nursing degree in 2020.
She previously worked at Life Time Fitness as a coordinator and was also a teacher’s aide during her time in North Dakota. Sterling is available on Instagram, where she has shared several photos with her family and that of her traveling with her friends.
Phoenix has a half-brother named Jaxon Howard. Standing at 6’4, Jaxon plays as a linebacker for LSU. Jaxon committed to LSU in July 2022 and previously played at Robbinsdale Cooper HS.
Jaxon was rated as high as no.9 in his position by Rivals.com and is a four-star recruit for LSU. Recently, Jaxon shared that for Christmas he would be handing out 50 Cooper Families with $100 gift cards to Cub Foods for a Christmas meal.
Chaconas and Willie share another child named Aeyva Howard. Like her siblings, Aevya has taken the athletic route and plays basketball at Robbinsdale Cooper High School.
Earlier this year, in August, one of Phoenix’s siblings, Chanell, tied the knot with her partner, Charlie Koch. She is another one in her family who pursued nursing and is now a registered nurse.
