“RIP to my HS baseball coach, Bob Dickerman. I was fortunate to feature him while working at NBC10 in RI. I’ll never forget some of his sayings.”

Jeff Kolb

Another added:

“He was a baseball man and a gentleman through and through. He had a tremendous impact on thousands of RI baseball players and future coaches (including me) but particularly kids from East Providence. I had a pretty good run as a player and coach and Bob Dickerman was the most important person in my development- and since baseball mirrors life- his impact extended well beyond the diamond. He never swore, his uniform was always impeccable, he threw batting practice into his 80s, he never complained or made excuses, he was always quietly teaching, and he respected the game and the people who played it the right way. He taught us to play it the right way, to carry ourselves the right way, for love of the game and because life requires living it with grace, dignity, respect, and effort- win or lose. His tee shirt says it all. Rest in peace Coach Dickerman… and thank you!”
