Joseph Michael Russell was convicted in Neosho, Missouri, for attempted child molestation in the first degree, involving a 9-year-old male victim.

The offense occurred on September 14, 2010, and he was officially convicted on January 31, 2013, under statute RSMO 566.067 in Newton County.

His registration was recorded on February 8, 2013, through the Kansas State Registry.

Russell is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He has a cross tattoo on his left shoulder and a tribal design on his upper right arm.

Additionally, he is associated with a gray 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck registered under the Chrysler Group.

The Fort Scott Bandits addressed the situation in a strongly worded Facebook post.

They emphasized that Russell’s involvement with young boys was particularly alarming, highlighting his dual roles as both a firefighter and a Little League coach.

The author of the post focused on warning parents to speak with their children, stressing the importance of ensuring their well-being.

The post concluded with a clear call to action:

“KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE FROM THIS MONSTER. MAKE SURE THEY ARE OK. STAY ALERT/STAY SAFE. SPREAD FAR AND WIDE. SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!”

A person from such a trusted position accused of abusing a child shows how fragile a parent’s trust can be.
