A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 near Evansville, Minnesota has left two people dead and a third person hospitalized with serious injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the collision happened just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, inside a construction zone along the interstate.

According to troopers, a Ford Fusion traveling west and a Tesla Model Y heading east collided head-on near mile marker 80.

A third vehicle, a Toyota Crown that was also traveling east, then struck the wreckage from the initial crash.

The driver of the Ford, 24-year-old Koleman Lind of Jamestown, North Dakota, was airlifted to a hospital in St. Cloud, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Tesla, 73-year-old Harold Ennulat of Woodbury, Minnesota, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ennulat’s passenger, 65-year-old Kari Ennulat, suffered life-threatening injuries and remains under treatment at St. Cloud Hospital. The driver of the third vehicle, 63-year-old Debra Lea Middleton of Mandan, North Dakota, was not injured.

Authorities say the State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Ashby Fire and Ambulance, North Memorial EMS, Evansville Fire, and Life Link III. The crash remains under investigation.

Jamestown Remembers a Rising Coach

Lind was well known in Jamestown, where he worked as a graduate assistant coach with the University of Jamestown women’s basketball team.

He also worked as a server at Buffalo Grill, a local restaurant that closed for a day this week so staff could grieve his loss. The restaurant later reopened, and coworkers described Lind as a beloved member of their team who left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with.

Friends and family of Lind have set up an online fundraiser to help cover funeral costs and outstanding hospital bills tied to the crash.

The response from the Jamestown community has reportedly been strong, as people continue to share memories of Lind’s time as both a coach and a server in town.

Investigation Continues

Officials have not yet released additional details about what caused the initial collision between the Ford and the Tesla, and no citations have been announced as of this week.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available from law enforcement.
