James Andrew “Jimmy” Eoute, a familiar presence on Greenville youth sports fields and disc golf courses for decades, died peacefully at his home on September 19, 2026. He was 70 years old.
Born in Greenville on July 29, 1956, Eoute spent much of his life giving back to the community that raised him. He coached youth sports for many years, working with countless young athletes across the Greenville area and leaving a lasting impression on the teams and families he worked with.
A Passion for Disc Golf
Outside of coaching, Eoute was widely known in the local disc golf community. He was a longtime member of the Upstate Club and a regular at Timmons Tuesday Doubles, where he built friendships with fellow players over the years. Those who knew him through the sport remembered him as dedicated and always ready to show up, rain or shine.
Eoute is survived by his four children: Ashley Powell (Lars), Brittany Williams (Jonathan), Zachary Eoute (Meg), and Hannah Eoute.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Georgia and Jacob Williams, as well as his brother Mark Eoute (Wanda) and his dear friend and former wife, Susie Eoute. His faithful dog, Ryder, was also by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Eoute Sr. and Kathryn Eoute, and his brother, Norman Eoute Jr.
Service Details and How to Give
A graveside service celebrating Eoute’s life will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Graceland East Memorial Park, located at 2206 Woodruff Rd. in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that those wishing to honor Jimmy’s memory make a donation to a charity of their choice.
