Josh Carvalho, a well-loved baseball coach and mentor in the Georgia sports community, tragically passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, while working on a job site in South Georgia.

His sudden death has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, players, and all who had the privilege to know him.

Coach Josh Carvalho Was More Than Just a Coach; He Was Family to Many!

Known for his deep passion for youth sports and player development, Coach Josh served for years with organizations like CCB Prospects and FA.

He mentored countless young athletes and helped them grow both on and off the field.

His impact stretched far beyond the diamond, becoming a father figure, mentor, and lifelong supporter of his players.

Josh wasn’t just a coach to many; he was a friend, a motivator, and a source of strength.

He stood by families through high school transitions, college signings, and personal milestones.

Usually, he spoke about how proud he was of his family and found joy in every moment spent with them.

One of his friends shared,

“Josh and Mindy were still a big part of our lives, even after the boys moved on to high school. They were there the day Hayden signed to Emmanuel. Mindy celebrated with us at his graduation party. Their friendship has been such a blessing.”

The community has come together in support of the Carvalho family during this heartbreaking time.

A meal train and donation page have been created to help Mindy and Jordan navigate the days ahead.

“If you’re able to donate to help support Mindy and Jordan during this time, it would mean the world. If you cannot, we simply ask for your prayers—for comfort, strength, and peace for this precious family as they navigate the days ahead.”

A heartfelt statement shared online reads:

“Our hearts are completely broken as we mourn the loss of an incredible man, Josh Carvalho. Josh, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Thank you for always believing in my boy and pushing him to be what you knew he could be.”

Another family friend added:

“Josh wasn’t just a coach to Hayden, he was a mentor, a believer, a man who gave so much to his players. The impact he’s made on our lives is permanent.”

Even in his final days, Josh was doing what he always did, working hard and providing for his family.

Josh is survived by his loving wife, Mindy Carvalho, and their incredible son Jordan, who were the center of his world.

He also leaves behind his mother, Pat Keeble Carvalho, who shared a deeply moving tribute to her son:

“I am Josh’s mom, Pat Carvalho. Thank you for your beautiful tribute to my son. He loved all the kids he coached. He was a good husband to Mindy, a great father to Jordan, and a wonderful son to me. Omg, I wish we could wake up from this nightmare. Love to each of you.”

The suddenness of his passing has left many searching for words, but united in action.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Coach Josh Carvalho’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest In Peace, Coach Josh.
