Upon talking to his father, Mike pondered it a lot. He also talked to a business leadership professor at his college and sought advice.
However, Mike decided to go for it. He said, “But I ended up just being like, ‘What are you doing? This is where your heart is at. If you’re 40 years old and you didn’t give it a shot, you’re not going to be able to live with yourself.'”
Despite initial skepticism, Hugh later respected Mike’s decision, seeing his dedication. Hugh also said Mike was not a kid he had to worry about, and he didn’t make many rash decisions.
