Oleg Hofman, a Russian hockey player, passed away at the age of 23 after falling from a sixth-floor balcony in Moscow.

His agent confirmed that his death was not violent and suggested it may have been an accident.

According to Mash, on the evening of May 17, he fell from a window of a building in Khovrino after sitting near the entrance for an hour before.

During the fall, he nearly hit a woman with a child. His friends do not believe the suicide theory, saying:

Oleg Hofman was a talented hockey player who graduated from Moscow’s Dynamo academy.

In Dynamo’s youth team, he played 166 matches and won the Kharlamov Cup in 2021.

Hofman also played for several teams in the Russian Hockey League, including Moscow’s Dynamo, Sokol Krasnoyarsk, Dynamo MO, and Tula’s AKM.

He was part of the youth team that won the Kharlamov Cup in 2021. In the 2024/25 season, he played for the Kazakh team Beybaris.

His journey in hockey was marked by dedication and skills, making him one of the standout players in the hockey world.

His untimely passing is a great loss to his family and the hockey community. His loved ones are grieving, with some expressing disbelief over the circumstances of his death.

His friends have described him as “the life of the party” and struggle to accept the possibility of suicide.

The hockey community has also paid tribute to Hofman, recognizing his contributions to the sport.

His farewell ceremony is scheduled for May 20 at Kolychevsky Cemetery, where teammates, family, and supporters will gather to honor his memory.
