Melissa Morgan, the wife of Coach J.C. Morgan, has been his partner for 15 years, balancing her role as Assistant State Director for NFIB with motherhood.

Coach J.C. Morgan served as the head football coach at Millersville University from 2018 until October 2025.

On October 6, 2025, he was officially fired by Millersville University, following a disappointing 0-5 start to the football season.

The decision was announced by Director of Athletics Kate Corcoran, who emphasized the university’s commitment to excellence and its recent investments in football scholarships.

Morgan had led the Marauders since 2018, finishing with a 15-56 overall record and a 9-34 mark in PSAC East play.

Offensive coordinator Brian Ferguson, who joined the staff earlier in 2025, was named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Likewise, a national search for a permanent replacement will begin after the season concludes.

Coach J.C. Morgan’s Wife Was Diagnosed With Stage Four Breast Cancer Five Years Ago!

Coach J.C. Morgan and his wife, Melissa Morgan, have been married for 15 years, marking their anniversary each year on June 5.

Morgan serves as Assistant State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

Together, they have two daughters, Daniella, 12, and Elianna, 6, who have often been seen supporting their father at Millersville football games.

As per some news, Melissa was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer in August 2020.

She has spent the past five years courageously battling the disease.

Despite being advised to step back from her career and focus solely on family, Melissa has remained professionally active.

Melissa Morgan’s professional impact was publicly recognized on January 28, when she expressed gratitude for being named to City & State Pennsylvania’s “Who’s Who in Government Relations” list.

Early in her treatment, the Morgans connected with METAvivor, a nonprofit focused on metastatic breast cancer research and support.

During Millersville University’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, Morgan once said:

Melissa’s journey with breast cancer inspires me daily to live life to the best of my ability, I see her forge through treatments, numerous appointments, difficult diagnoses from doctors, and medical setbacks. She attacks it in a way that I can only look at with pure amazement. She’s been told to quit her job. She’s been told to focus on spending quality time with the kids, and yet she continues to fight on in her professional career and as an amazing wife and mother. This gives me tremendous motivation to lead a group of men through the game of football as well as life.

Since then, she has become a passionate advocate, leading fundraisers that raised over $8,000 in 2022 and now aiming for $10,000 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
