Former American snowboarding coach Peter Foley is now serving a 10-year suspension, starting on August 8, 2023, for sexual assault.

Before being involved in the sexual assault, Peter Foley was the inspiring coach for the U.S. Snowboard team, training numerous players.

However, in February 2022, former U.S. Ski & Snowboard (USSS) team member and 2010 Olympian Callan Chythlook-Sifsof shared a series of Instagram posts during the Beijing Winter Olympics, accusing Peter Foley of sexual misconduct.

In one of her now-deleted instagram posts, she wrote, “I cannot watch another Olympic Games without saying this publicly.”

At the moment, Foley denied the allegation, but later, after the USSS conducted the investigation, the truth came to light, leading to his suspension.

Before the investigation, USSS implemented an “athlete safety plan” that prohibited Foley from having one-on-one interactions with female athletes.

Following the investigation, on February 21, 2022, the USSS placed Foley on administrative leave.

Later, after the full report was released, the Beijing Olympics concluded that Peter should be fired immediately, i.e., on March 20, 2022.

Therefore, in March 2022, Peter Foley ended his 28-year tenure as head coach of the U.S. Snowboarding Team.

Following his dismissal from the US Team, the same month, three former athletes and a former USSS employee filed sexual misconduct complaints with SafeSport.

With all the rising concerns going on about female athletes, SafeSport temporarily suspended Peter Foley from the department.

After the March 2022 incident, Peter Folwy once again faced the charges when Olympic Bronze medalist Rosey Fletcher sued him along with the national federation, its former CEO, and the USOPC.

As per Rosey’s statement, she sued the individuals and authorities for sex trafficking and for covering up reports of sexual misconduct.

Following multiple charges and reports, on August 8, 2023, after an 18-month investigation, SafeSport suspended Peter Foley for ten years.

It has been more than two years since the suspension, and his whereabouts and activities during this time remain largely unknown.

Before the suspension, Foley appeared to lead a life dedicated to training young U.S. Snowboarding talent, but now he seems to have completely vanished from the sports scene.

With no publicly known family ties and considering his past history and allegations, Peter Foley now appears to be living a quiet, private life.
