Former Softball Coach William “Bill” E. Bailey, 84, Passes Away Leaving Behind His Two Daughters

William “Bill” E. Bailey, a former softball coach, tragically passed away on Monday.

Born May 15, 1941, in Toledo, OH, he was the oldest son of Paul and June (Fisher) Bailey.

A 1959 graduate of Sylvania Burnham High School, where he was class president.

He later received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 1993. Bill married Maryann Bombrys on June 9, 1962.

Bill enjoyed golfing, playing pinochle, walking his dog Graham, and coaching softball in his younger years.

William “Bill” E. Bailey Passed Away, Leaving Everyone Devastated

According to reports, William “Bill” E. Bailey passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the age of 84.

However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Close ones and relatives have poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to William’s family to stay strong in this heartbreaking moment.

According to William’s family, visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, located at 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman), Temperance, MI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Todelo, Ohio 43613, where he will lie in state after 9:00 a.m., followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH 43560.

William “Bill” E. Bailey And His Wife, Maryann, Were Blessed With Two Daughters

William “Bill” E. Bailey was married to Maryann on June 9, 1962.

Maryann was born on December 24, 1941, in Toledo, OH, to her father, Edwin, and mother, Leocadia Bombrys.

She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1959 and received her Bachelor’s of Education from Lourdes University in 1997.

Sadly, Maryann passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016, in Ebeid Hospice Residence at the age of 74.

Maryann and William were blessed with two daughters, Deborah Bailey and Barbara Mulhern.

They also had three grandsons, Bailry, Will, and Tanner Mulhern.
