Hamilton Christian School Basketball Coach Dexter Washington Placed on Administrative Leave as His Son Allegedly Covers Up Student Sexual Assaults

Hamilton Christian School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is facing serious trouble following the arrests of three staff members.

Louisiana High School Sports reported in a Facebook post that head football and basketball coach Dexter Washington has been placed on administrative leave.

Washington, who led the Warriors to an undefeated football season and a boys basketball state championship last year.

Additionally, he is the father of assistant coach Dominique Washington, one of the staff members arrested in connection with the case.

Coach Dexter Washington Placed on Leave After Son’s Arrest!

Former principal Morgan Daugherty and assistant coach Dominique Washington were charged with failing to report crimes and attempting to cover them up.

Another employee, Stacy Bargemen, was charged with cyberstalking for allegedly threatening school staff in writing.

Daugherty and Washington both had bonds set at $1.15 million, while Bargemen’s bond was $7,500.

Investigators say Daugherty and Washington tried to hide information about sexual assaults between students that happened over several months.

Daugherty was first put on leave and later fired, and Washington resigned after being arrested in Ascension Parish, about 150 miles away.

Even with these problems, the school’s sports teams are still doing well.

The football team, led by star junior quarterback Javon Vital, is undefeated at 9‑0 and ranked No. 3 going into the state playoffs against St. Frederick.

Last season, the boys basketball team won its first state championship, with Vital named the Outstanding Player.

Both teams are coached by Dexter Washington, who is Dominique Washington’s father.

Hamilton Christian is one of the smallest football schools in Louisiana, with only 94 high school students, but it has built a strong reputation in sports.

The scandal has cast a shadow over the school, even as its athletes continue their best season ever.
