Jarron Collins was born on December 2, 1978, in Northridge, California, US. There is no information regarding his parents.

He grew up with his twin brother, Jason Collins, a former professional basketball player. They used to play for the same team and have played in the prestigious McDonald’s All-Star game.

College Career

Jarron Collins was one of the very experienced basketball players in his school life. He also played many games for his college team at Standford University.

NBA Career

Jarron Collins started his professional NBA career after the 2001 NBA Draft as a second-round pick by Utah Jazz.

He played only eight seasons with Utah Jazz. After that, he became a free agent for the following 2009 NBA season. 

Collins was with the Portland Trail Blazers during his pre-season. Then soon, he was waived by the Blazers and went to another team, the Phoenix Suns.

He stayed roughly a season with the Phoenix Suns. Later he joined the Los Angeles Clippers on a 10-day contract on January 17, 2011.

Later on March 1, 2011, he signed another 10-day contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. After his final game with Blazers on March 17, 2011, in a 111-70 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Ultimately, Collins announced his retirement from basketball after playing four minutes and recorded no stats in his final game. 

Post Retirement Career 

After retiring from his professional NBA career, he decided to work as a scout for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2013. Later, he worked for Pac-12 Networks as a college basketball analyst. 

Collins joined as a player development coach for the Golden State Warriors. He started on July 3, 2014, under the guidance of Steve Kerr.

Collins won his first championship as a coach against Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals with good tactics and gameplay. He got promoted to assistant coach from player development coach for the Warriors.

He worked more on his coaching. After three years, he again successfully defeated Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2017 NBA Finals, leading him to win his second championship. 

Collins’s Golden State Warriors defeated the Cavaliers in the NBA finals championship many times and left the Warriors in 2021 in a mutual agreement. 

After three months, Collins was hired as an assistant coach for New Orleans Pelicans.
