Emilia Alejandra Lopez Perez, a Laredo, Texas native and athlete, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the untimely age of 20, leaving her family, friends, and loved ones devastated.
Jischke Gymnastics & Fitness Center, where Emilia Lopez served as an exceptional gymnastic coach, took to their official Instagram page to announce her untimely death and pay tribute.
However, the details regarding the untimely demise of Emilia are not yet disclosed.
Jischke Gymnastics, in their heartfelt Instagram post, wrote:
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Coach Emilia has passed away.Emilia was a beloved coach whose hard work and passion for coaching made a lasting impact on so many athletes and coaches over the years. She loved her athletes dearly, and all are welcome to attend her funeral to honor her memory.Our Jischke family will be gathering to remember her, and all staff will be attending the funeral, so the gym will be closed tomorrow. We appreciate your understanding as we take this time to mourn the loss of our teammate and friend.Please keep Emilia’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”

She not only excelled in gymnastics but also was a great cheerleader and dancer, winning several honorable titles.

Many of her friends and loved ones are paying heartfelt tributes to Emilia and extending their condolences to her family during this difficult time.
One of her old friends, Karen Vielma, wrote a heartfelt tribute to Emilia on her Obituary page and recalled her memories.
She recalled Emilia as a person who would light the whole world bright and a best friend who was always there to help everyone in need.
“You will always be my beautiful girl, my first best friend, and my sister, the one who knew me when life was still simple. Losing you feels unreal, and the ache in my heart is heavy.”

Emilia Alejandra Lopez is survived by her parents, Jose Luis Lopez Perez and Karina Alejandra Perez, siblings, Ana Carolina Lopez Perez and Mateo Perez, grandparents, Jose Luis and Adela Lopez, aunts, and several cousins.
