Basketball player from Michigan, Sam Koetsier’s father, Ken Koetsier, has reportedly died in a tragic car accident, leaving behind his wife and children.

Sam Koetsier is a college men’s basketball player at Cornerstone University in the United States.

He is listed on the university’s official team roster and has been recognized for his dedication both on and off the court.

In addition to his athletic role, Sam has earned academic honors, including NAIA Scholar-Athlete and WHAC All-Academic recognition.

Holland, Michigan, Community Is Mourning the Tragic Passing of Ken Koetsier!

Ken Koetsier was tragically involved in a car accident on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, and passed away recently.

He was a local automotive expert and the founder of K2 Auto, known for his unwavering integrity, dedication to his family, and warm-hearted nature.

Not just his own business, Ken was also involved in community services and events.

Ken was a longtime board member, faithful servant, and passionate advocate for Christian education at South Olive Christian School.

Following his passing, not just his family, but the entire Holland, Michigan, community appears to be mourning his loss.

In the post, South Olive Christian School expressed their support and heartfelt memories, highlighting Ken’s impact, saying;

Ken gave generously of his time, talents, and treasures, always serving with humility, encouragement, and a deep love for Christ. His legacy lives on through his family, his service, and the countless lives he impacted within our SOCS community. One of Ken’s favorite reminders to us was this: “It’s not that we have to do it — we get to do it.” We are grateful for his example, his faith, and his heart for this school. Please join us in lifting the Koetsier family up in prayer as we grieve, remember, and give thanks for a life well lived.

While the community remembers Ken for his service, he is survived by his wife, Amy, and their children, Katlyn, Marissa, and Sam.

Additionally, he is also survived by several grandchildren from his daughter and son-in-law.

As the Koetsier family and the community go through this difficult time, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to them and to everyone who knew him.

Rest in peace, Ken. You will be missed!
