15. Kevin Stefanski
On number 15 of our ranking, we have the 42 year-old Kevin Stefanski. He is the 18th head coach for the Cleveland Browns, the position in which he was appointed on January 13, 2020.
Stefanski began his coaching career in 2005 as the assistant director of football operations at Penn. Similarly, he also worked with the Vikings between 2006 to 2019.
In his first season with Cleveland Browns, Stefanski led the team to their first playoff victory in more than 15 years. As a result, he was named the NFL Coach of the Year after the season.
Stefanski was the first Brown coach to receive the honor since 1976.

14. Zac Taylor
Zac Taylor is the head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and a former football player. The 41 year-old was hired as the franchise’s head coach on February 4, 2019.
As a player, Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Taylor in 2007, and he was only part of the team’s practice roster. The following year, he made his coaching debut in 2008 as Texas A&M’s graduate assistant.
Taylor has also worked with NFL franchises like the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams.
After becoming the Bengal’s head coach, he led the team to their first playoff win since 1990 in 2021.

12. Mike McDaniel
The 41 year-old Mike McDaniel is the head coach for the Miami Dolphins. The franchise hired him as their 14th head coach on February 6, 2022.
McDaniel began his coaching career as a coaching intern for the Denver Broncos in 2005. Before that, he had worked as a long-time assistant to Mike and Kyle Shanahan.
During his coaching career, he has worked with franchises like Houston Texans, California Redwoods/Sacramento Mountain, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers.

11. Pete Carroll
Pete Carroll is a 73 year-old head coach and vice president for the Seattle Seahawks. He became the head coach for the franchise in 2010.
In 1973, Carroll made his coaching career debut as the graduate assistant for the Pacific Tigers football team.
In 1984, he debuted his NFL coaching career with Buffalo Bills as their defensive backs coach.
He is one of the three coaches to win a college football national championship and a Super Bowl.
Under Carroll’s coaching, the Hawks won their first championship in Super Bowl XLVIII.
10. Matt LaFleur

In 2003, LaFleur began his coaching career as the offensive assistant for the Saginaw Valley State.
After starting his coaching career, he made his NFL debut as an offensive assistant for the Houston Texans in 2008.

9. Nick Sirianni
The 43 year-old Nick Sirianni is the head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. The franchise hired him as the head coach on January 24, 2021.
Nick played professional indoor football for Canton Legends for a brief period in 2005. He made his coaching debut in 2004 as a defensive backs coach for Mount Union.
In 2009, Sirianni made his NFL coaching debut with the Kansas City Chiefs. He filled the position of offensive quality control coach.

8. Kyle Shanahan

Shanahan started his coaching career in 2003 as a graduate assistant for UCLA. The following year, he made his NFL coaching career debut as the offensive quality control coach for Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Similarly, Shanahan has also worked with Houston Texans, Washinton Redskins, Cleveland Browns, and Atlanta Falcons.
Kyle as the offensive coordinator for the Falcons, the franchise reached Super Bowl LI in 2016.

7. Mike Vrabel
The seventh NFL coach on our list is Mike Vrabel. The 44 year-old Vrabel is the head coach for the Tennessee Titans, who hired him on a five-year deal on January 20, 2018.
Before his coaching career, Vrabel was a professional NFL football player from 1997 to 2010.
In 2011, Vrabel became the linebackers coach for Ohio State. Then, in 2014, he made his NFL coaching career debut as the linebackers coach for the Houston Texans.
As a head coach of the Titans, Vrabel became the NFL Coach of the Year in 2021.
6. Sean McDermott

In 1998, McDermott began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for William & Mary. He made his NFL coaching debut in 2001 as the assistant head coach for Philadelphia Eagles.
McDermott helped improve the team’s performance which mainly lagged during the 2000s and 2010s.

Sean McVay is a 38 year-old head coach for the Los Angeles Rams. He is the youngest NFL head coach in the modern era to be hired at 30.
He began his career as an offensive assistant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008. Similarly, he also worked with Florida Tuskers and Washington Redskins before signing with the Rams.
In his first season with the Rams, the franchise became the top-scoring team of 2017 en route to a division title.

4. Mike Tomlin

He has been serving in the position since 2013.
Reid began his career as a graduate assistant for BYU in 1982. He made his NFL coaching debut in 1992 as the assistant offensive line and tight ends coach for the Green Bay Packers.
Since being appointed the head coach for the Chiefs, Reid is credited to have helped revitalize the franchise.
He helped the team end their eight-game playoff losing streak since 1993.
Among the NFL coaches, Reid is the only coach in the league to win 100 games and appear in four consecutive conference champions with two NFL teams.
