Ice hockey coach Rick Tocchet and his ex-wife Lynne Tocchet divorced while their son was a toddler.
Rick Tocchet parted ways with the Vancouver Canucks and was officially announced as the 25th head coach in Philadelphia Flyers history on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
The Flyers fired John Tortorella with nine games remaining in the 2024-25 regular season, and associate coach Brad Shaw replaced him on an interim basis to finish the year.
In a statement, Flyer’s general manager, Daniel Briere, said,
“I am very happy to welcome Rick Tocchet as our head coach,” “During this process it became clear that Rick was the absolute right coach to lead our team. He has enjoyed the highest level of success both as a player and coach. Rick’s ability to teach and understand his players, combined with his passion for winning, brings out the best in young players at different stages of their development and has earned the respect and confidence of highly talented All-Stars and veteran players alike.”

Tocchet has nine seasons of head-coaching experience in the NHL, having led the Tampa Bay Lightning, Arizona Coyotes, and Canucks.
He has an overall 286-265-87 record as a head coach in the league, building his teams to two playoff appearances.
While with the Canucks, Rick took home the 2023-24 Jack Adams Award as NHL Coach of the Year. He also has prior experience as an assistant coach with the Coyotes, Lightning, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Canucks announced Wednesday that they would be replacing Rick with assistant coach Adam Foote. They took to their official Twitter handle and wrote,
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the team has hired Adam Foote as the 22nd Head Coach in franchise history.

After Tocchet and Foote’s hirings, just four head-coaching vacancies remain throughout the NHL, including with the Bruins, Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Seattle Kraken.
Coach Rick Tocchet Briefly Dated Susie Celek Following His Separation From Lynne A. Wilke
Canadian ice hockey coach Rick Tocchet married Lynne A. Wilke. Their exact wedding date has not been revealed.
Lynne, 53, born on March 20, 1972, graduated from Penn State University in June 1994 and became a full-time design principal at Creative Designs.
As per Lynne’s official LinkedIn profile, she joined Pacaso in July 2021 as a full-time director of interior design and left in January 2023.
Wilke has been serving as the business development leader of the Discovery Land Company at RH Interior Design.
Sadly, Lynne and Rick officially divorced after several years of marriage.
Following their divorce, Rick reportedly dated Susie Celek, the owner of Skin Palette from Philadelphia.
According to various reports, they met at the Annual Firefighter, NHL Alumni, and Celebrity Hockey Game in Atlantic City, NJ, to support the All Hands Working Charity.
However, it is unknown whether they are currently dating or not.
Susie received esthetics training and education from Aveda Institutes and worked with her best friend and business partner, Julie Dorenbos.
In addition, she was an All-American swimmer and captain of the University of Cincinnati women’s crew team in college.

In 2000, Rick Tocchet and Lynna A. Wilke welcomed their son, Trevor Tocchet, 25. He lives in Seattle, Washington, United States.
Trevor is a standout senior defenseman for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men’s lacrosse team in 2022.
Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and having graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School, he started all 16 games in his senior season.

He tallied two goals on four shots, scoring against Eastern and Skidmore, while contributing significantly to RPI’s defensive efforts with 34 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, ranking fourth on the team in that category.
His performance earned him a spot in the prestigious USILA Senior All-Star Game and Scholar All-American honors.
Academically, Trevor excelled as a computer science major with a psychology minor, consistently making the Dean’s Honor List and earning Liberty League All-Academic recognition multiple times.
Outside the classroom, he interned with Thermo Fisher Scientific in data protection engineering and collaborated with RPI alumni on algorithmic trading projects.
He has been a software engineer at Picket Home since September 2022.
