Gary Wayne Manasco, a Bellevue, Ohio native and former high school coach, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving his loved ones devastated.
While the actual cause of his death has not yet been disclosed, a family post on social media noted that Gary Manasco suffered from Alzheimer’s.
Born on November 6, 1954, in Ohio, Gary Manasco made a lasting impact on the lives of many through his remarkable career as a high school teacher and coach, dedicating his life to education and sports.
He spent decades guiding young athletes in Little League, high school basketball, and golf, leading his team in several victories.
Furthermore, Gary Manasco served as a varsity golf coach at Seneca East High School for over twenty years before retiring from his career due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
For his remarkable journey as a high school coach, Gary was awarded the OHSAA Award in 2019.
In addition to his coaching career, he served as a science teacher at Seneca East High School, guiding his students in their academic journey.
Despite his passing, Gary Manasco’s legacy in Bellevue Community and his exceptional journey as a dedicated coach and teacher will always be remembered.
Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Gary Manasco and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Gary Manasco is Survived By His Longtime Wife, Brenda, Two Children, and The Entire Family
Gary Manasco was not just an amazing coach and teacher but also a devoted husband to his wife of 48 years, Brenda Stoldt Manasco, a retired Optometric Tech.
While Brenda hasn’t released any statement regarding the passing of her beloved husband, as she is currently grieving the loss, she often shares pictures of Gary Manasco on social media expressing her love and pride for him.
Furthermore, the couple raised both of their children, son Jonathon ‘Jon’ Manasco and daughter Alison O’Neal, to be successful in their respective fields.
Their daughter, Alison, is a senior organizational development consultant at CAS in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to her recent position, Alison served as a management consultant at PRADCO and as Sr. Student Services Specialist, Student Financial Aid Consultant, and Change Analyst at The Ohio State University.
She also served as a student services associate at Columbus College of Art and Design. Alison earned her Bachelor of Science in Major Business Administration from Miami University and her M.A. in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University.
Likewise, their son, Jon Manasco, has been serving as a CP & LE Railroad Superintendent at Cedar Fair Entertainment Company in Sandusky, Ohio, since 2022.
Prior to that, he worked as a Line Technician at Buckeye Broadband for nearly 11 years and as an I/R Techinician at Time Warner Cable for almost 6 years.
He earned his degree in Digital Communication and Multimedia from Terra State Community College and his degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from The Ohio State University. He began his career as a Steam Locomotive Engineer at Cedar Point Amusement Park.
In addition to his wife and children, Gary Manasco is survived by his grandchildren, Jack, Margaret, Ruby, and Maximus; his son-in-law, Scott O’Neal; his daughter-in-law, Monica; his sisters, Teresa (David) Soldano and Martha Bradberry; and the entire family.
Gary’s family has organized a memorial service to honor him on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia Street, Bellevue, Ohio, 44811.
The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest Street, Bellevue, Ohio 44811.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Seneca East Athletic Boosters.
