This is awesome. Lowe will be allowed to be himself there and will get the freedom to be the best NBA journalist that he is. Simmons can be weird sometimes but have to say I’m looking forward to regular podcasts with him and Lowe.

ESPN Network Fired Sportswriter Zach Lowe In 2024
Zach Lowe, a famous sportswriter and NBA analyst, was fired by ESPN Network on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after serving for around 10 years.
While at ESPN, he offered his expertise to several programs, including “NBA Countdown” and “NBA Today.”
He also hosted a weekly podcast, “The Lowe Post,” where he explained on-court storylines and interviewed players, coaches, and front-office personnel.
Various sources claimed that Zach’s seven-figure annual salary, around $1 million at the time, was the primary reason behind ESPN’s decision.
It came after they fired Sunday NFL countdown host Samamatha Ponder and analyst Robert Griffin III in August 2024.
Those decisions were reportedly a part of ESPN’s fiscal year planning, which was set to conclude at the end of September 2024.
Following Zach’s dismissal from ESPN Network, his fans supported Zach through their social media handle. One fan wrote,
If Zach Lowe doesn’t deserve to be employed by your company then no one does. It’s like month by month we’re watching the company that used to define sports media wither away into nothing of substance

Letting go of Zach Lowe right after you lose Woj and JJ Redick is an all-time baffling business decision.

The third fan wrote,
No fr though the Zach Lowe firing is the cherry on top of a four or five year stretch where ESPN has just progressively cared less and less about sports
