Angel was a standout athlete at Venture Academy in Stockton, California, where he played varsity baseball for all four years of his high school career.
Wearing jersey number #1, he excelled as a pitcher and outfielder.
Over his career, Angel played in 64 games, maintaining a .303 batting average, with 36 hits, 34 RBIs, and 39 runs.
His senior year (2024-2025) was his best, as he led the Venture Academy Mustangs to a perfect 10-0 league record, securing the CCAA league title.
With an undefeated 10-0 pitching record, Angel was named CCAA Pitcher of the Year and helped his team win their first playoff game in eight years.
As a freshman in 2021, he played as an infielder and pitcher, contributing to an 8-13 team record.
By his sophomore and junior years, he continued to grow, earning Player of the Game awards multiple times, including on March 30 and April 13, 2023, and March 18, 2025.
Despite a tough playoff loss against Hughson High School (0-9) on May 8, 2025, Angel didn’t let it affect him.
His statistics demonstrate his skill and flexibility: he reached base nearly half the time, earned 21 walks, and hit 5 doubles, proving he could contribute to his team in multiple ways.
Venture Academy also paid their tribute, writing a lengthy eulogy on their social media, which reads:
Angel was a fierce competitor and the most loyal friend and teammate you could ever ask for. A very humble and respectful young man, Angel contributed greatly to the success of our program in all 4 of his high school years.
