Wesley Chapel Elementary Coach and Fomer DHHS Graduate Ed Crook Passes Away

Wesley Chapel Elementary Coach Ed Crook, and DHHS Class of ’66, has passed away.

The former Druid Hills High School footballer lost his life in the hospital after battling with Pneumonia on top of other unknown diseases.

The coach is survived by his loving wife, Donna Crook, and two daughters, Marybeth Crook and Emmy Crook.

Everyone who knew him not just as a coach, player, or in his profession, but also for his kindness, humility, and care will truly miss him in days and years to come.

Marc Tozer broke the news of the passing. He also added, “Ed was like a second Father to me and accepted me right away when I got here 25 years ago. We are all truly heartbroken at this time. We will always remember and Love you Ed.”

Ed was not just a coach and a high school player, but also a huge football fan, who supported the Georgia Bulldogs with all his heart.

Having obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Georgia itself, he has supported the Football team for several decades.

Numerous Tributes to the late Coach

The late coach has received various accolades, mainly from his former colleagues at Druid Hills High School.

Rick Cochran wrote, “Ed was a very good man, a talented man! He possessed great musical talent, and he was also a great academic! Ed is with our Lord now with no more medical issues! Rest in peace, my friend!”

Jean Grimes added, “So very sorry to learn about this!! We will miss seeing him at the DHHS gatherings. Johnny and I send our deepest condolences.”

Ed’s kind gesture and legacy live on in the hearts they touched and the stories they left behind.

One individual added, “Eddie was a really good guy. We will all miss him,” Others added, “He will be missed by so many.”

  • He last worked as a Senior Consultant at 247Security Inc.
  • Ed got both his degrees in Education.
