Honorary coach for local football and baseball teams in Wilsonville, Larry Baker, passed away, leaving behind his love for the Auburn Tigers and his devotion to Tarrant High School athletics.

As his family requested privacy during this difficult time, Jimmy Hill shared the news of Larry Baker’s passing with the public.

Larry Baker Was An Avid Auburn Tigers Fan And Respected Community Coach!

Larry Baker was a beloved figure in Wilsonville and the Tarrant community.

He served as an honorary coach for local football and baseball teams, encouraging and supporting young athletes.

He loved visiting Tarrant High School, cheering at Wildcat football games, and was a devoted Auburn Tigers fan.

Through his involvement in sports, Larry brought joy and spirit to his community.

He was remembered not only for his deep faith and kindness but also for his enduring connection to athletics.

Larry’s passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and the entire Wilsonville and Tarrant community.

Friends and loved ones shared heartfelt memories of Larry, with Buddy Mabrey expressing sorrow and saying he will be missed by all who knew him, lovingly calling him “Coach.”

Another friend remembered him as a great man, saying:

He was a great man Jimmy! Im very grateful to have know him! We’ll always remember coach Baker!

One of Larry’s longtime partners shared:

Larry was my soul winning partner for many years! Larry definitely loved his Lord.

Regarding the celebration of his life, Larry Baker’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at Wilsonville Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
