A mother shares her 10-year-old daughter’s fear during a fight at a Florida football field on September 16, 2025.
Suzie Becker, a mother took to her Facebook page to share a story from September 16, 2025, at a football field in Florida.
After a fight broke out, her 10-year-old daughter texted her parents from the field house.
Suzie’s daughter doesn’t follow the news much, but she knows that arguments between people often lead to shootings these days.
Likewise, Suzie also shared the screenshot of their conversation which showcases how worried she felt.
Her daughter wrote, “I’m in the field house.” Her father replied from his work phone, “It’s okay.”
But the girl sent back single letters one by one: D, N, O, T, I, D, E. Those letters spelled out “DON’T DIE.”
Her fear was clear, even as her father tried to calm her. Suzie explained in her post that this happened right after the fight started.
Suzie pointed out how children like her daughter are growing up in a time when simple arguments can turn dangerous with guns.
In the bigger picture, the post speaks volumes how fear has become part of everday life for kids, even at a youth sports event.
People who saw the post expressed their feelings. One person named Yvonne Cohen asked in surprise if the fight involved 10-year-olds and if it was about politics.
Another, Jodi Rogo, called it terrible and wondered if the text came from a Bark phone, which is a tool parents use to watch over children’s messages.
To which Suzie replied saying that it was on family group chat. She wrote:
We were at Homecoming when a fight broke out. I believe there will be sheriffs in the future. 🙇♀️

Lani Keller Freeman said it was the saddest thing and that it breaks her heart to see children so anxious.

😢😭💔💔 This world💔😭😭 Our kids have to naturally panic so often.

This story from the Florida football field showcases a larger problem. Young children are now aware of violence around them.
They text their parents in fear during a simple fight at a game, thinking it could lead to something worse.
Parents like Suzie are sharing these moments to remind everyone how arguments can quickly turn into gunshots in today’s world.
