The Orlando, Florida, community is mourning the loss of 17-year-old Hezekiah Cabreja, a Cypress Creek High School football player, who reportedly died in an accident. Officials or family members have not released the details yet.

His presence was felt by everyone when he was around, and he had the biggest smile, a kind nature, and a loving personality.

He was also one of the outstanding players at the High School, known for his desire to improve and win matches.

“Heze was a great son to me in the short amount of time I was graced to spend with him,” said Shannon McCray.

“You demonstrated remarkable consistency in being true to yourself, never compromising or wavering for anyone. Your absence has left an unfillable void in our lives.”

Hundreds of Tributes Pour

Family members, relatives, and hundreds of others have also paid tribute and expressed their heartbreak following the young player’s passing.

“My baby cousin Hezekiah passed away yesterday morning. Such a good kid with a big smile, our big teddy bear. Our family is left completely heartbroken,” they shared.

Delilah Vazquez added, “Today we woke up with some devastating news that my nephew, Hezekiah, passed away in a tragic accident.” One of his former teacher also paid a tribute,

“This young man was my former 3rd-grade student. He tragically passed away in an accident. When I taught him, I worked hard to help him discover his academic potential and bring out his leadership, and sure enough, he shone and thrived in 3rd grade, making me so proud. It breaks my heart to know his life journey ended at just 17 years old. Gone too soon.”

Bryan Puello and Jamilah Delgado have organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist Hezekiah’s family with funeral expenses and to support them during this difficult time.

The funeral services will be held on November 8th, 2025, and the campaign is on track to meet the $20,000 goal.

A donor added, “Praying for the Cabreja Family. Hezekiah was a great young man; it’s been an honor knowing him for the last 10+ years. May God strengthen his family during these times. My Condolences.”

Another said, “I’m so sorry. Praying for your strength right now and that god comforts you during this difficult time.”

Hezekiah Cabreja’s legacy of kindness and warmth will be remembered by friends, family, and the wider Orlando community.
