As many of you may have heard, my girls lost their dad ,Edwin Alexander, to the fatal cyclist accident today. I appreciate everyone reaching out and sending condolences. Trust me, I have read them all. I don’t have it in me right now to respond or answer calls. My heart is broken and this cross is proving to be heavier than I could have ever imagined. He was someone I loved deeply and shared a long history with. As soon as I plan his services, I will make them known. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Please pray for him and all of us, during this difficult time.
Likewise, the Bicycle Ranch Tucson community is grieving the loss of its brightest lights, saying:
By now most of the Tucson cycling community know we tragically lost one of our own yesterday. Edwin Alexander was all that was good in people. Quick with a smile, an encouraging word or whatever you needed. There is no solace in the fact he died doing what he loved. He should have seen his children grow up. He should be here today. I have hesitated writing this because I was overwelled with two emotions. 1, the amazing feeling of care and sadness from so many, and 2, the anger at so many of the comments from people who showed hate towards a “cyclists.”
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Edwin Alexander’s family, friends, and well-wishers.
Rest in Peace, Legendary One
