Gabby Douglas is an American artistic gymnast who gained worldwide recognition for her sports achievements. She is successful in her field, which she credits to her loving family.

Gabby Douglas comes from a close-knit and supportive family. She was born to parents Timothy Douglas and Natalie Hawkins on December 31, 1995, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She has three siblings: two sisters, Arielle and Joyelle, and a brother, Johnathan.

Their unwavering support has played a crucial role in shaping Gabby into the remarkable athlete and role model she is today.

Gabby is called the first African descendant woman to be the all-around champion in the Olympics and the first American woman to win as part of a team and individually simultaneously.

She became famous when her life story inspired a movie called ‘The Gabby Douglas Story’ in 2014.

In 2016, Gabby returned to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as a United States gymnastics team member known as the “Final Five.”

Although she faced challenges and setbacks during her Olympic journey, she played a crucial role in helping the team regain the gold medal.

Furthermore, she has recently announced her return to gymnastics and already resumed training to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. 

Gabby Douglas Family: Parents & Siblings

Gabby was born in Virginia to Timothy Douglas and Natalie Hawkins. Her parents separated when she was young, and her mother raised her and her siblings alone.

Douglas’s father, Timothy Douglas, is an Air Force Staff sergeant. Despite not being around her childhood, her father has a strong admiration and love for her as he often visits her during matches.

Her mother, Natalie, is her manager and executive producer of the series, “Douglas Family Gold.”

Natalie Hawkins is famous for being in “Douglas Family Gold” in 2016, a movie called “Angry Office Christmas Party” in 2015, and “Gabby Douglas Story” in 2014.

Douglas’ mom raised four kids alone. She had to make a difficult choice when she allowed Gabby to live with a Chinese gymnastics coach, Liang Chow when she was only 14.

Although Hawkins was unsure, Douglas’ three older siblings, Arielle Hawkins, Joyelle, and Jonathan Douglas, decided that it would be best for her career.

Gabby’s eldest sister, Arielle, was born in Virginia on March 31, 1989. She didn’t focus on her career goals and dreams because she wanted to help her younger sister, Gabby, as much as possible.

Likewise, her second eldest sister, Joyelle, was born on May 29, 1993, and is an artist. She is always there for her younger sister and greatly supports her. 

Gabby’s brother, Johnathan, was born in Virginia on October 25, 1994. He is also inclined toward sports, as he was a top sprinter at Landstown high school.

Currently, Gabby is single and not dating anyone. There has not been any information about her previous relationships.

However, she has been vocal about her crush on actor Ian Somerhalder. She is a huge fan of his work and admires him.
