He was a three-sport athlete who played baseball, basketball, and football while at Eugene Ashley High School.

He then committed to play collegiate football for the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted the 29 year-old in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he has been playing for them ever since.

Highsmith has shown great diligence at the Pittsburgh Steelers so far. Therefore, as a testament to his tireless and dedicated efforts, the Steelers agreed terms on a lucrative four-year contract worth $68 million.

According to reports and his agent, the deal was sealed on July 19, 2023.

Highsmith will earn over $27.7 million (in guarantees) and an average annual salary of $17 million.

Alyssa Marie Ungrady was born on October 20, 1999, to her parents, Donald and Ann Ungrady.

The wife of the NFL player competed in cross country and track & field during her school and collegiate career.

She attended Great Oak High School, where she helped her team win 4 CIF SS & Southwestern Championships.

After finishing high school, she joined UNC Charlotte, where she met her future husband, Alex.

She studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated in 2020.

Similarly, Alyssa also has a sister named Alexandria. Her sister also competed in track & field at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Moreover, she has two brothers named Keith and Zack.

The Family Foundation

Once fame & money followed Alex, he has always remained optimistic about giving back to the community.

He founded the Alex Highsmith Family Foundation, which is based in his hometown, Wilmington.

It is a non-profit organization that positively impacts the lives of youth by investing in their future.

Furthermore, this month in July 2023, the foundation organized and helped fund the Third AHFF Youth Football Camp.

In addition to this, Highsmith also spoke out against gun violence after his high school friend and gym & basketball partner, Caryl Baron, was shot and killed.

The incident happened when she walked to a party in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Halloween night in 2020.

Following this tragic incident, Highsmith wrote Carly’s name on his cleats as a tribute the following week.
