Clevon Wofford, a junior at Jamestown High School, was named the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association (CCAA) Large School Runner of the Year for his outstanding performance in cross country this season

Clevon Wofford is a young and promising cross-country athlete who has made significant achievements in the local high school running scene.

Through his incredible skills and dedication, Wofford has represented his school, Jamestown High School, well, earning a reputation as the region’s top runner.

He has participated in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association (CCAA) and has consistently ranked well in races.

Wofford finished third in the CCAA finals, sixth in the Section VI Class A title, and the top 75 at states.

His performance won him the CCAA Boys Large School Runner of the Year title.

The CCAA‘s fourteen individuals and two teams participated in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association cross-country finals at Queensbury High School.

Clevon was the first local runner to take to the 3.1-mile track in eastern New York, where he competed in the Class A boys race, which began at 10 a.m.

Therefore, Wofford’s athletic achievements speak volumes about his potential.

One of his standout performances also includes his victory in a Boys’ Cross-Country race at the Martin Road Athletic Complex with a time of 16:58.

His stellar performances and victories have contributed to building Jamestown’s strong reputation.

Similarly, he also competed in a challenging 5KM race, the Alden Bulldogs Cross-Country Stampede.

Then, he participated in the Gold Varsity race, securing 7th place and completing the course in an impressive 16:46:5.

Hence, these results highlight Wofford’s high prowess and ability to perform under pressure.

Moreover, Wofford’s confidence to compete against some of the best runners in the region is commendable.

His continual participation in regional competitions demonstrates his zeal for the sport.
