Alainah McKavish, a guard-forward for the Clarke County Eagles women’s basketball team, is making her parents proud with her achievements.
Clarke County basketball star Alainah McKavish and her sister Paige McKavish recently showcased their exceptional basketball skills, leading their team to victory over the Generals on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Alainah and Paige each scored 21 points to lead Clarke County to an 84-21 win over the Generals.
Alainah, a junior, and Paige McKavish, a freshman at Clarke County, inherited their athletic genes from their parents, Stacey and Ryan, both former college basketball stars.
Both Ryan and Stacey showcased their exceptional basketball skills while attending Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to basketball, Alainah’s father, Ryan McKavish, also played football and led his team to several victories.
Similarly, her mother, Stacey, was inducted into Slippery Rock University’s Hall of Fame Class of 2016 for her outstanding athletic achievements.
A native of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Stacey Green Mckavish played for the SRU women’s basketball team from 2001-05 and won several honorable titles, including two-time All-PSAC.
Stacey ranks third in SRU women’s basketball history in rebounds, fourth in blocks, and seventh in scoring.
She averaged 12.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game over her four-year career with Slippery Rock University.
Stacey is also among the only three players in program history to record more than 1000 points and 900 rebounds.
While limited information about Alainah’s father, Ryan McKavish’s achievements, is available, her parents met during the 2000s while attending the same college and have been together since.
Following in the footsteps of her athletic parents, Alainah and her sister Paige continue to excel in their sports journey.

Although Alainah’s parents chose to end their sports careers to focus on other professions, they guided and supported Alainah and her sister in pursuing their athletic dreams.
After graduating from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Applied Science, Safety and Environmental Management degree in 2002, Alainah’s father, Ryan, began his career journey as a District Safety Manager.
Moreover, Ryan served as the District Safety Manager of The Home Depot in Northern Virginia for over four years before joining James G. Davis Construction as the Safety Manager in 2006, serving for four and half years.
Ryan currently works as the Director of Safety at Schnabel Foundation Company in Sterling, Virginia. He has been working with the company for over 14 years, since February 2011.
Talking about Alainah’s mother, Stacey began her career with Toll Brothers, a company in Ashburn, Virginia, as a Human Resources Generalist, earning her bachelor of science and health Service Administration degree in 2005.
After over three years of experience as a human resources generalist, she joined Telesis as the Corporate Recruiter in 2008 before beginning her journey with Dewberry in 2012 as a recruiting manager.
Since 2012, Stacey has been working with Dewberry in Fairfax, Virginia; she currently holds the position of associate vice president, recruiting and regional HR director.
In addition to focusing on their career, Ryan and Stacey often spend time with their children.
They often share their daughters’ achievements on social media, expressing their love and pride for them.
