As per the latest updates, the body of Gary Jones, one of the victims of the boating accident at Lake Oconee, has yet to be found.

Gary Jones was a dedicated coach at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA, and a Board Member at Georgia Works.

He graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Science degree and achieved a Master of Science degree from Georgia Tech.

A devastating boating accident occurred at Lake Oconee, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

Two victims, Gary Jones and Joycelyn Nicole Wilson, were staying at The Lodge Hotel before they went boating on Lake Oconee.

The tragic accident occurred while they were out on an 11-foot Sun Dolphin boat with an 18-horsepower motor.

The boat was later found circling in the middle of the lake without any occupants, raising concerns.

Coroner Andre Williams, Putnam County Deputy, stated that the accident is believed to have occurred on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m.

The authorities were not informed until 7 a.m. on Sunday. The search for the bodies began on Sunday morning after authorities were alerted to the incident.

Game wardens discovered the body of 49-year-old Joycelyn Nicole Wilson, a resident of Atlanta, on Sunday at 9:55 a.m.

They found her floating in the water near the Long Shoals Jumping Rock area. Later, she was pronounced deceased at 11:35 a.m. by Deputy Coroner Williams.

Also, Williams stated that the exact cause of death remains unknown until the autopsy results are obtained from the state crime lab.

Additionally, he mentioned that her body showed no visible signs of injury or markings when it was retrieved from the lake.

As reported by local and state authorities, Gary Jones was identified as another victim who drowned in the incident.

The search for Gary Jones was suspended on Sunday night and was expected to resume at daylight on Monday.

Despite an 11-hour search on Monday, Gary Jones’s body remains missing.

Authorities have announced that the search will resume on Tuesday at 7 a.m., with the boat back on the water to continue the efforts to find him.

The investigation into the boating accident at Lake Oconee is still ongoing. Authorities are working to uncover more details about the tragic event.
