On a Saturday afternoon in Tampa Bay, the Adarius Haye accident claimed the lives of brothers 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria, devastating their families and shocking the community as 20-year-old football star Adarius Haye was involved in the tragedy.

The accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road in Largo.

According to the Largo Police Department, a southbound Dodge Durango collided with a Kia Soul that was attempting a left turn.

The impact was catastrophic, resulting in the deaths of Jabari and Charlie, two young brothers full of promise.

Several others were seriously injured and rushed to nearby hospitals.

Police have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but details about the circumstances remain limited.

Authorities have not disclosed whether Adarius Haye was driving and was hospitalised following a devastating car crash

A spokesperson for the Largo Police Department said that the investigation is “active and ongoing,” leaving many questions unanswered as the community searches for closure.

The crash led to the closure of Ridge Road from Ulmerton Road to 8th Avenue for several hours, disrupting traffic but paling in comparison to the disruption felt by those who knew the victims and Haye.

Adarius Haye Is Well-Known In The Largo community

Born to Peggy Geerdes Hayes and Andre Hayes, he grew up alongside six siblings: Anthony, Alayah, Jordan, Janayah, Jayden, and Arionna.

From a young age, Adarius stood out for his height of 6’4” and his determination and talent in football.

At Largo High School, Haye was a standout on the Boys Varsity Football team, playing as a tight end (TE), outside linebacker (OLB), and middle linebacker (MLB) while wearing the #24 jersey.

His athletic prowess earned him recognition as one of the nation’s top-ranked linebackers, drawing attention from college football powerhouses like Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.

Ultimately, Adarius chose to join the University of Miami Hurricanes, a decision that marked the beginning of a promising collegiate career.

As a sophomore linebacker wearing the #34 jersey, Haye quickly made an impact.

In his debut season, he played in 12 games, taking on an increasingly prominent role as the year progressed.

He was a key contributor on special teams, finishing the season with four tackles and one interception.

His work ethic, combined with his natural talent, positioned him as a shining star with a bright future in football.

The Accident Involving Adarius Haye Has Shocked The Largo Community

Jabari and Charlie, the two young boys who lost their lives, were beloved by those who knew them.

Jabari, 10, was full of energy and had an infectious smile. Charlie, 4, was a joyful and curious child who brightened every room.

Their tragic deaths have left their family and community heartbroken over the loss of two young lives.

For Adarius Haye, the accident is a turning point that threatens to overshadow his promising career.

The young athlete, who worked tirelessly to rise from Largo High School to the national stage, now faces scrutiny and uncertainty.

The community is sad about the loss of Jabari and Charlie. At the same time, people have mixed feelings about Haye.

Many are upset and angry, feeling that a talented athlete’s involvement in such a tragedy is a betrayal of the promise he represented.

Others are praying for Haye and his family, recognising that he, too, is likely struggling with the weight of this accident.

While the details of the crash are still under investigation, it highlights the need for vigilance and care at every intersection.

For now, the community is focused on healing, supporting the Solomon family, and remembering two young boys whose lives were tragically cut short.
