Indiana Hoosiers football defensive back Louis Moore, who recently won a lawsuit against the NCAA, has supportive parents of multicultural backgrounds.

In early August 2025, Moore filed a lawsuit against the NCAA in Dallas County, Texas.

According to Moore, the NCAA’s five-year eligibility rule allegedly violates the Texas Antitrust Act.

Following the case, on September 24, 2025, Judge Dale Tillery of the 134th Civil District Court ruled in Moore’s favor.

He was granted a temporary injunction that allowed him to continue playing for the undefeated Hoosiers.

This decision was hailed as a victory not only for Moore but also for other student-athletes in similar situations.

Born on January 29, 2001, in Mesquite, Texas, to parents Lavonda and Joe Moore, Louis was raised in a multicultural background.

Although few details about his father are publicly disclosed, his mother’s Facebook profile indicates that she works at Destiny Christian Ministries, Inc.. This ministry empowers, encourages, and teaches the gospel of Christ.

Lavonda is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. Additionally, she was a member of the Business Magnet program during her college years.

Details about his father remain private, but according to Lavonda’s profile, they have been married since June 1996.
