Walt Weiss, an American baseball manager for the Atlanta Braves, has been married to Terri, and they have four children: Blake, Brody, Bo, and Brock.

He is a former professional baseball shortstop who played in MLB for the Oakland Athletics, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies, and Atlanta Braves.

The Atlanta Braves announced on Monday that Walt Weiss will be their new manager, replacing the retired Brian Snitker.

Weiss is a familiar face to the Braves, having served as the team’s bench coach for the past eight seasons. He was a key part of the staff that won the World Series in 2021.

As a major league manager, he previously led the Colorado Rockies from 2013 to 2016.

His new role is the latest step in a long baseball career that began as a player, where he was named Rookie of the Year and later won a World Series.

The team is confident that Weiss is the right person to guide them forward with his experience and deep knowledge of the Braves organization.

Walt Weiss’s Wife, Terri, is a Supportive Pillar

Terri has been a constant and steadying presence from his coaching high school baseball at Regis Jesuit to managing the Atlanta Braves.

Their family life is filled with cherished traditions, like spending Christmas holidays in Captiva, Florida, where they attend an exceptional evening service at the Chapel by the Sea.

Beyond the baseball diamond, Walt and Terri are partners in philanthropy.

They run the SIDS Foundation in Denver, a cause close to their hearts as it honors the memory of Walt’s brother, who died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

He has also built Little League fields for inner-city children, showing the family’s deep commitment to their community.

Despite the demanding schedule of a Major League manager, Weiss always makes a dedicated effort to prioritize his wife and children. His family is his most important team.

Walt Weiss’s Children Followed Him Into Baseball

Walt Weiss’s legacy in baseball lives on through his four sons, who have all followed in their father’s footsteps onto the diamond.

The Weiss brothers have all shared a common bond through the sport their father loved.

Weiss’s oldest, Blake, was a center fielder before focusing on track and football. He is contributing to society by working in Denver at a non-profit rehab center.

The second son, Brody, pursued a college career as an infielder, playing for schools like UC Santa Barbara and Westmont College.

He was infected with the dangerous E. coli bacteria at the age of 3 in 1998, which left him at high risk for future infections. He contracted MRSA, a staph infection that is resistant to antibiotics, and doctors had to take special precautions.

Bo Weiss, the third son, continued the family tradition at his father’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, as a pitcher.

Despite being born with a club foot, he overcame significant physical challenges to develop his skills on the mound.

The youngest, Brock, also embraced the game, playing as a shortstop and pitcher for Regis Jesuit High School, where his father once coached.
