Adam Schefter, an American sports writer and reporter, has been married to Sharri Maio since 2007. They have a daughter, Dylan.

Sharri has a son, Devon, from her previous husband, Joe Maio, who was killed at the World Trade Center in the 9/11 attacks.

After divorcing his first wife, Adam Schefter fell in love with Sharri Maio on a double-blind date in 2006. They went from dating to engaged to married in about 1 year.

The moment I saw her, I fell for her. I saw her and was completely smitten. Her mom used to comment that when we were dating, how much she saw that I loved Sharri.

Sharri had a young son, Devon, and they later had their daughter, Dylan.

She is their family superstar, and without her, nothing gets done. She has a way of seeing things that Adam isn’t always able to, and she helped him move from NFL Network to ESPN.

Moreover, Sharri makes sure both her children and husband are happy. She is the heartbeat of the Schefter family, who lives her life with grace and a strong sense of purpose.

Adam Schefter is a Proud Father of 2 Kids

Adam Schefter is renowned for breaking the biggest NFL stories, but his most important role is at home as a father.

The ESPN insider and his wife, Sharri Maio, have built a family that beautifully blends both sports and personal strength.

Adam is a dedicated father to two children: a son, Devon, and a daughter, Dylan.

Devon is his stepson, born in 2000, whom he embraced as his own when he married Sharri in 2007. His biological father was tragically killed in the 9/11 attacks.

Adam has proudly and lovingly assumed the role of father in his life.

He released a book, “The Man I Never Met,” in 2018, about Sharri’s first husband, Joe, and his experience joining the family after Joe’s death.

Similarly, the married couple also has a daughter together, Dylan Schefter.

Dylan is following in her father’s footsteps and is already making a name for herself in sports media. She has worked as an NFL correspondent for Nickelodeon and has appeared on ESPN.

Furthermore, she plans to attend her father’s alma mater, the University of Michigan.

Adam has often spoken about how fatherhood has shaped his perspective. His most valued team is the one he has at home with Sharri, Devon, and Dylan.

Adam Schefter Opens Up About the Realities of Fatherhood

Adam Schefter has a more personal side, discussing the unique challenges and rewards of being a dad. His journey into fatherhood began with a scare.

When his daughter was born, she spent her first week in the NICU due to complications from Sharri’s Type 1 diabetes.

Adam also spoke about the distinct challenges of being a stepfather to his wife Sherry’s son, Devon, whose biological father died on 9/11.

Adam explained that while he never considered himself a “stepdad,” parenting came with a unique set of hurdles.

My wife always had such high expectations. It always was a struggle… she had a certain idea of how her first husband would have raised his son.

Adam’s relationship with Devon has evolved into a great one, and he is proud of the man that he’s become. His children taught him selflessness.

Moreover, his advice for new dads is to treat fatherhood like a new job. It’s a new language, new skills, new demands, which takes some patience to understand.

Despite his hectic schedule, where there’s “no off-season,” Adam strives to be a present father. If his children were to describe him, he hopes the words would be: an example, reliable, and trustworthy.
