Scouting Report & Body Measurements

Ainias Smith, with a muscular body build, has a height of 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) and weighs 86 kg (190 lbs).

Thanks to his competitive nature and talent for high-pointing the ball, he proves lethal to opponents with hands in his ball.

Before his scheduled appearance at SEC Media Days, Texas A&M wide receiver Ainias Smith was arrested early on July 20 2022. The player was detained on suspicion of DUI, carrying a handgun without a license, and having marijuana possession (less than two ounces).

The wide receiver was taken into custody by Texas A&M University police and lodged in the Brazos County Jail.

The player was given an extended suspension due to the allegations, and he missed SEC Media Days events.

However, by late July 2022, those charges against him were dismissed- assuring that the breath alcohol samples were under the limit while the handgun and marijuana were inside the glove box.

Craig Greening, Smith’s lawyer, confirmed that the University has since rescinded that ban.

“I verified the suspension’s removal with Ainias personally. The University informed him that the suspension had been removed. “Greening spoke with Mark Berman of Fox 26.

Greening further added, “Ainias can start practicing football again. It demonstrates that the University thinks he’s innocent. that they considered all the information and that, in their opinion, the suspension ought to be lifted.”

Smith’s Injury Led Him Out For A Season

On September 24, 2022, Ainias Smith helped the No. 17 Aggies celebrate a victory 23-21 over No. 20 Arkansas at T&T Stadium. However, the victory would bring another worry for the team after their wide receiver Smith suffered a lower-body injury.

He didn’t return to the ground after being on the sidelines following the injury during the closing time of 3rd quarter.

Reportedly, the college football star had his leg under the weight of Razorback linebacker Bumper Pool in an attempt to block.

In the emotional moment at the Texas A&M sideline, Ainias Smith’s father, Maurice Sr., was seen comforting him. He told The Eagle that his son had suffered a fracture in his right leg.

On September 26, 2022, the Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed that Smith would be out for the season.
