The sudden passing of 19-year-old Siena Hoffman, a dedicated volleyball player at the University of Alabama, has left her family, friends, and the community in deep mourning.
Del Oro Women’s Basketball announced Siena’s death on Instagram, where they expressed heartfelt condolences,
“The best teammate, coach, mentor, and friend. Siena, you will be missed more than words can express. Your light was contagious and it lives on in everyone you impacted 💛”

Siena was born to Stephanie Forbes Hoffman and Greg Hoffman and was raised with her younger sister, Gia Hoffman.
She attended Del Oro High School, where she performed in both basketball as a power forward and volleyball as a right-side hitter from 2022 to 2024.
Before high school, she played for the Synergy Force Volleyball Club from 2019 to 2022.
Hoffman Was Serving As A Part-time Volleyball Manager At The University Of Alabama
In 2023, Siena began her studies at The University of Alabama, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with an expected graduation in 2027.
In addition to her education, she had been the volleyball manager for the university’s women’s volleyball team since August 2023.
In this role, she managed equipment, coordinated transportation for the team, collaborated with catering companies for meals, and worked closely with sports medicine and nutrition staff.
Siena’s work experience also included a part-time position as a waitress at Hillenbrand Brewery in Rocklin, California, where she assisted in cooking and meal preparation.
Additionally, she served as a team manager for Synergy Force Volleyball Club for over a year and a half, overseeing equipment transportation and managing social media for the team.
Her skills extended beyond volleyball; she was proficient in equipment maintenance, sports management, project management, cooking, money management, customer service, and working with children.
Siena’s LinkedIn profile highlighted her achievements in athletic training and performance improvement.
She notably advised volleyball coaches on training schedules that improved game attendance by 25%.

Siena Hoffman’s death has not been publicly confirmed, though unverified reports suggest she may have been involved in a car crash.
Regardless of the circumstances, her death has been an extreme tragedy for her family, friends, and the community, who valued her vivid spirit and accomplishments.
Her sister Gia shared a touching tribute to her older sister on Instagram and wrote,

“Words cannot explain what I am feeling right now. She was my best friend for 7 years and I never got tired of her humor. She was the funniest person I have ever met. I always thought we would rekindle in the future, but now I’m begging for just one more talk with her. My heart is permanently broken and I miss her so much. Rest easy Siena 🤍🕊️”

A celebration of Hoffman’s life is scheduled for Friday, February 28th at 5:30 PM at Bayside Granite Bay located at 8191 Sierra College Blvd., Roseville, California.
