Alex Milazzo parents Jimmy and Shannon, have always been there for him- from his high school days to college prominence at LSU.
The American baseball catcher made his parents proud as his team LSU Tigers, made it to the 2023 College World Series & took the title.
However, in the pursuit of the 2023 CWS triumph, Alex fractured his shin, which left his dad & mom in worry. But they also do understand the risks that come with the perks of the games.
His father, Jimmy, made an update about the injury & stated that the younger baseball star won’t require surgery.
Not to mention, his parents wouldn’t let him play football & agreed to let him pursue a baseball career.
Born on August 1, 2000, Alex Milazzo plays as a catcher for the collegiate baseball team LSU Tigers.
Milazzo already throws like a big-league catcher and possesses the ability to shut down anyone’s running game.
A redshirt junior, the American baseball player began playing for the LSU Tigers in 2020 & has been named on the 2021 and 2022 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
In 2021, he threw out 14 base runners attempting to steal and picked off one runner during the season.
Milazzo was a four-year starting catcher at Zachary High School before LSU. There, he was ranked as the No. 3 player in Louisiana’s 2019 class by Prep Baseball Report.
Alex Milazzo Parents: Jimmy And Shannon Milazzo
Alex was born to his parents, Jimmy and Shannon Milazzo, in Zachary, Louisiana. Milazzo, the middle of three kids, grew up with an older brother Cade & a younger sister Claire.
The baseball player’s father, Jimmy, began coaching youth football in Zachary even before he had any kids. Afterward, he continued coaching multiple youth sports.
Currently, he is a maintenance gatekeeper for BASF in Los Angeles. He instilled the love of his Zachary roots in his son, who leans upon those experiences today.
Jimmy also used to take his son to the LSU football games as he grew more into the game.
But he & his wife Shannon wouldn’t let him pursue football as they believed Alex was destined to play baseball.
Milazzo’s mother, Shannon, is a teacher and cheer gym owner. She also played softball at Southeastern Louisiana.
In the earlier days, Shannon was a physical education teacher at Northwestern Middle School and coached the cheerleaders.
Jimmy and Shannon are proud of Alex as a baseball player and always inspire him to succeed. They even drove 1,000 miles over 14 hours to see Alex and LSU in Omaha at the Division I Men’s Baseball Championship.
Baseball Career Was Barely Without Injuries
Although the LSU Tigers won the 2023 Colleg World Series against the Florida Gators, it was a bittersweet victory for them. Their catcher Alex Milazzo sustained an injury while attempting to score at the plate.
Milazzo’s father spoke to the sportscaster Jacques Doucet regarding Milazzo’s injury.
In his Tweet, he stated, ‘Alex Milazzo has a fractured shin, his father Jimmy tells me. Jimmy says it won’t require surgery.’
However, it was not Milazzo’s first time getting injured on the field. In fact, he was hampered by a knee injury for most of the 2022 season.
Similarly, Milazzo took a fastball to the mouth at the plate, breaking the entire front palate of his teeth in his freshman year at Zachary High School. Surprisingly, he was on the field eight days later with a face shield.
Fans hope that the catcher keeps up his zeal for playing baseball and recovers soon from the injury.
