Born on June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia, Iverson played 14 seasons in the NBA, primarily as a shooting guard and point guard.

He was drafted first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1996 NBA Draft and quickly became one of the league’s biggest stars.

Allen Iverson’s Parents, Ann And Allen Broughton, Were Never Married!

Allen Iverson was born to Ann Iverson, a single mother, in Hampton, Virginia.

His father, Allen Broughton, was largely absent from his life, leaving Ann to raise Iverson on her own.

Ann was never married to Allen Broughton, and Iverson grew up without a strong paternal presence.

Later, Ann was in a relationship with Michael Freeman, who became a father figure to Iverson during his childhood.

However, Freeman was arrested for dealing drugs when Iverson was 13 years old, which deeply affected him.

Iverson does have younger half-siblings, including Mister Allen Iverson, who was born in 2003 to Ann Iverson and Michael Andre Freeman.

Ann had twin boys in 2003, but only one survived, and she named him Mister Allen Iverson in honor of his famous older brother.

Despite facing financial struggles, Ann Iverson worked tirelessly to support her son and encouraged him to pursue basketball.

She played a crucial role in shaping his career, ensuring he had opportunities even in difficult circumstances.

Although his childhood was marked by poverty and adversity, his mother’s dedication and belief in his talent helped him rise to basketball stardom.

In an interview with Kevin Hart on the show Cold as Balls, Allen Iverson publicly shared the story behind his nickname “Bubba Chuck.”

The name comes from his two uncles, Bubba and Chuck, who were debating over what nickname to give him.

Unable to decide, his mother combined both names and started calling him Bubba Chuck.

Moreover, Allen mentioned that Uncle Bubba had passed away, while Uncle Chuck was still alive. This is why people now mostly call him Chuck instead of Bubba Chuck.
