Coach Todd J Weaver (TJ Weaver), a well-respected educator and multi-sport coach, passed away peacefully on June 27.
In high school, he was a standout athlete, earning letters in baseball, football, and basketball.
He received first-team All-District honors in both football and baseball and was offered a football scholarship along with a military nomination to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.
He ultimately chose to play college baseball at Belhaven University, where he was named an All-Conference catcher during his junior and senior years.
Before turning to education, Weaver spent 18 years as a professional musician. He was a recording artist with RCA Nashville and performed as a headliner in Las Vegas.
Family And Friends Mourn The Loss Of Coach
Andrew Soloman shared the sad news of the passing of his close friend, TJ Weaver, saying he left this world far too soon.
He described TJ as someone who truly made a difference. Whether it was his time, his knowledge, or just a helping hand, TJ gave it freely and without hesitation.
My good friend, TJ Weaver, has passed away…..far too soon.

If every person was more like TJ, the world would be a better place. He was a genuinely good guy who made time for anyone. If you asked, he gave his time, his passion, his expertise, and his goodwill. Unconditionally. Always happy to help. Your memory will be a blessing for me and everyone who had the honor of knowing you and calling you a friend. Heartbreaking. Rest easy my friend.
Similarly, Marco Rangel remembered TJ as someone always willing to help any kid who wanted to learn the game.
His backyard baseball facility was always open, and he never asked for a dime in return.
Marco first met TJ during their sons’ first year of football and later partnered with him to start a fall select baseball team, especially for football players who needed extra work in the off-season.
He was a proud son, a devoted husband, and, above all, a loving father to his son, Lil TJ. Coach TJ’s presence, heart, and passion touched many lives.
Coach Weaver lived in Pearland, Texas, with his wife, Annika Starander Weaver.
I received some very sad news late last night. Coach TJ (Weaver) passed away peacefully yesterday. His side gate to his backyard baseball facility was Always open. He would drop everything to coach any kid that wanted to learn And he absolutely refused to accept a dollar to coach countless kids in baseball and football. I met him with Canes Johns 1st year of football and went on a few years later to start a fall select ⚾️ team with him aimed to accommodate football kids that needed some work in the fall. He would literally take the shirt off his back, always had a Tahoe full of boys he would take to games or practice. He was a proud son and husband but most of all he was So Proud to be a father to his Son Lil TJ. You will be missed coach. I’m sure you are already up there running a bullpen practice. #TopNotch
