American tennis superstar Andre Agassi and famous actress Brooke Shields were once married. After dating for four years, the two walked down the aisle in 1997, but unfortunately, their marital relationship didn’t last more than two years.

Over two decades have passed since they separated, and now, finally, Brooke has spoken something good about her marriage with her former husband, Andre Agassi.

In an exclusive talk with AARP The Magazine in March 2024, she credited her ex-husband Andre for helping her break away from her now-late mother. She said,

It was a transition that I needed. I wasn’t strong enough to separate from my mother on my own. I kept falling back in.

The Pretty Baby actress further reminisces about her past relationship with her ex, Andre, and stated,

With Andre, it also felt good to feel smaller than another because he was so famous and number 1 in the world. Everywhere we went, he had tons of bodyguards. I could sit back because it wasn’t my world. He was the first one out of the car when we arrived at events. s. It was a real kind of respite.

But previously, Brooke had called her marriage with Andre ‘a mistake.’ Well, the fact is that they have had a tumultuous relationship, disregarding how they were named the power couple at the time.

During the period they shared a marital relationship, Andre started using crystal methamphetamine, and that appears to be the reason behind their failed marriage.

In his autobiography Open, Andre Agassi recalled his last call with his ex-wife, which he pursued for reconciliation. He wrote,

I phone. I know you said three weeks, but I need to talk to you. I think we should meet, I think we need to be working through these things together. ‘Oh Andre,’ she says. I wait. ‘Oh Andre. ‘You don’t understand. You just don’t get it. This isn’t about us—this is about you individually and me individually.

Andre further stated that he offered apologies for whatever happened between them, explaining his mental condition and the whirlwind emotion he was feeling, hoping that Brooke would give him a second chance.

However, contrary to his expectations, Brooke tells him she is sorry for his suffering but cannot do anything to fix everything.

Both Andre Agassi And His Ex-Wife Are Now Happily Married to different People!

Two years after their separation, Andre Agassi married his fellow tennis player, Steffi Graf. The two walked down the aisle on October 22, 2001, in an intimate ceremony attended by only their mothers.

The couple now have two beautiful children: a son named Jaden Gil, born in 2001, and a daughter named Jaz Elle, born in 2003.

On the other hand, in a small ceremony held on Catalina Island in California, Brooke, Andre Agassi’s ex-wife, also moved on with her second husband, Chris Henchy, tying the knot with him on April 4, 2001.

While reflecting on her first marriage, Brooke also gushed about how supportive her now husband has been.

He makes me laugh. I think I always knew that I needed solid and normal. And he’s a very, very good dad. He goes to every basketball game, every volleyball game. And the kids love being around him too.

Brooke Shields and her now-husband Chris have two daughters, Rowan, 20, and Grier, 17.
