However, Robin has mentioned that her mother discouraged her from watching wrestling and didn’t want her to be influenced by her father’s opinions, suggesting a possible tension between André and Jean.

Robin has revealed on rare occasions that she didn’t have a sound and healthy relationship with her father.

Andre and his wife Jean’s relationship was complex, and their daughter was placed in the middle of the adult’s feud.

Additionally, André was a prominent figure in his time and was often busy with his professional career, which made it impossible to maintain regular contact with his daughter.

In an interview with CBS Sports, the 45-year-old revealed that she had only met her father a few times, and those meetings were in court over child support, which indicates that her parents were separated. She said:

I can recall two or three times at arenas. Unfortunately, other times, They were in court.

Although her mother discouraged Robin from watching wrestling, she eventually gravitated towards it.

Robin followed in her father’s footsteps and worked as a wrestler for some time, as well as doing some acting gigs.

Robin has mentioned her involvement with Titan Championship Wrestling in her Instagram bio.

Despite her complex relationship with her father, she worked as a consultant on his biopic, which was released in 2018. Likewise, she also promoted a graphic novel based on her later father, Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven.

During the promotion, Robin expressed her hope that people would understand who he was as a person from the documentary, saying:

I hope they’ll get a better idea of who he was as a person not just the persona of Andre the Giant

Furthermore, she also revealed that Andre had a drinking problem, which might have contributed to the family’s tense relationship.

Unfortunately, Christensen lost her father in 1993, and later, in 2008, she also lost her mother.

Although Robin didn’t have the best relationship with her father, André genuinely wanted to be a good father to her.

Andre left his estate to his daughter and ensured that she was financially secure, leaving her a big part of his legacy.
