There is an ongoing rumor of Angel Reese’s mother, Angel Webb Reese, affectionately known as Mama Angel, being involved in an accident.

Earlier this week, a post began circulating online claiming that a distracted driver hit a 53-year-old woman in Houston, and that the victim was none other than the mother of WNBA star Angel Reese.

The post read:

“A driver using a phone and failing to stop at a red light strikes a 53-year-old woman walking with her family in Houston, only for rescue teams to discover she was the mother of basketball star Angel Reese.”

But let’s be clear: this is entirely false.

Multiple sources have debunked the rumor, and it is not based on any credible reporting.

Concerned fans and social media users were quick to sound the alarm, urging people not to spread unverified information.

One Facebook user wrote:

“In the name of Jesus hopefully this is false untrue news. And for whomever put this post out, if it’s untrue, please take it down. Facebook, please investigate this post. If it is false, please remove it.”

Mama Angel Is Alive & Well And Just Had Her Mortgage Paid Off

Not only is Angel Reese’s mom alive and well, but she recently appeared on her daughter’s YouTube show, “Unapologetically Angel,” to celebrate her birthday.

During the surprise-filled segment, Angel revealed she had fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams, paying off her mother’s mortgage.

“Before we sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ you said that if your mortgage was paid off that you would retire… your mortgage today has been paid.”

The moment left Mama Angel in shock, visibly moved to tears. “Are you serious?” she asked, overwhelmed with emotion.

Angel, 23, who currently plays for the Chicago Sky, emphasized just how much this moment meant to her:

“That was my biggest goal in life to retire you and pay your mortgage… You’re a hard-working woman, you don’t need me for no money.”

A Powerful Bond Between Angel Reese And Her Mother

The mother-daughter duo shares more than just a name.

Mama Angel was a college and professional basketball player, just like her daughter.

She played for the University of Maryland and even went on to play professionally in Luxembourg.

It was Mama Angel who first inspired her daughter to pick up a basketball.

Angel said in a past interview,

“I used to go to my mom’s games when I was younger… that was always inspiring to me.”

Their bond is unbreakable, and their story serves as a poignant reminder of the power of generational inspiration and sacrifice.

While baseless rumors were spreading, Angel Reese was busy making history.

The WNBA rookie recently became the first female athlete to collaborate with McDonald’s on a special meal, marking another significant milestone in her booming career.

She has also spoken openly about her family, her upbringing, and how her mother shaped her into the confident woman she is today.
