Ante Rebic: Early Career & Life
Ante Rebic is a professional footballer born on September 21, 1993. He was born in Split, Croatia, a coastal city that shares its borders with the Adriatic Sea.
He is one of three siblings born to the couple of Bosko Rebic and Nedilijka. Life was tough for Rebic during his teen years as his parents had to take care of three children with limited income.
Rebic started his youth career playing for Vinjani. At the same time, he played at the club for six years, honing and developing his skills.
Ante left the club to play for Imotski. The forward impressed a lot of onlookers and earned a move to RNK Split youth team.
The Croatian International would make his professional debut at the club and garnered attention from the media and some of Europe’s leading clubs.
Ante Rebic: Age, Height & Body Statistics
The Croatia International stands at 6′ 1″ tall and is at the time of writing 26 years old. For instance, Rebic is quite tall for a winger as most of the top-level wingers are shorter than him.
Nevertheless, Ante has turned himself into an outstanding player, as seen by his transfer to Italian giants AC Milan. The winger has a quick and tricky pair of heels for a man of his size.
He is rapid through the pitch, which can always be an asset to any team. It is evident at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Rebic and Cristiano Ronaldo both clocked at 34km/hr. It was the highest speed achieved at the tournament.
Ante Rebic: Career (Club & International)
Ante started playing football from a very young age, but he was never really seen as a top-class player like the present. Rebic made his professional debut for RNK Split, where he had mild success.
However, the forward’s breakthrough moment came when he joined Italian giants Fiorentina during the 2013 season for a reported €4.50m.
The Croatian footballer spent three seasons at the club. Thereafter, the Fiorentina man made a loan switch to Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer of 2016, where he would gain a reputation for himself.
The pacy winger made his debut for Eintracht on October 17, 2016, during a match against Bayer Leverkusen. Similarly, Ante would go on to assist the goal scored by Marco Fabian, which turned out to be the winner.
Rebic scored his first goal for the club against SV Darmstadt 98 in a 2-0 win. Eventually, the Frankfurt striker would go on to make 100 appearances for the club, scoring a total of 25 goals.
In like manner, his good performances got him in the 25 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
After Ante’s impressive performances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and for Eintracht Frankfurt in the same season, Rebic earned a move to Italian heavyweights AC Milan where he is currently playing.
At this moment, Rebic has scored four goals for the Milan based club in 12 appearances. Most notably, he scored the opening goal of the Derby Della Madonnina, a match between the two Milan clubs.
International Career & Stats
Ante made his first senior appearance for Croatia on July 31, 2013, in a friendly against Liechtenstein. Subsequently, the forward would end up scoring the winner on his debut.
After an admirable start, the striker went through many highs and lows; nonetheless, his international career’s highlight has to be starting in the FIFA World Cup final.
Moreover, Rebic played an integral part in helping his side reach their first-ever World Cup final, where they faced defeat at France’s hands.
With that, the Frankfurt striker played in all six matches scoring one goal. Most importantly, he scored the opener against an Argentine team led by Lionel Messi.
Croatia exceeded all of their expectation during the 2018 World Cup as they knocked out top-class opposition on their way to the final. Their most impressive victory was against a top English side in which Rebic played a significant role.
Even though the Croatian international scored only one goal throughout the competition, his performances were impressive enough to warrant a starting place in all six of Croatia’s matches.
The pacy winger has made 34 appearances for his country to date, scoring three goals.
The achievements of Rebic are relatively low; however, he is still young at 26 years old. His honors are listed below:
Croatian Hope of the Year 2013
Order of Duke Branimir with Ribbon: 2018
DFB Pokal 2017-2018
FIFA World Cup Runner Up 2018
The flying winger is still to hit his peak. Most footballers hit their peak at 28 years. Therefore, the Croatian still has time to grow and be up there with some of the greats of Croatian Football.
Ante Rebic: Networth & Transfer Market Value
Ante had a humble upbringing, where he had limited resources. However, that isn’t a problem now as the Croatian International has a net worth of around $3 million with him earning an annual salary 0f €2.2 million at his current club AC Milan.
The current market value of Rebic stands at €33 million. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that Rebic will increase his worth as he gets to play alongside other top-class talents at his new club.
Endorsements & Lifestyle
The tricky winger is endorsed by American sports giants Nike, who provides him with outfits and football boots. The exact value of the endorsement remains undisclosed.
At the same time, Rebic often wears Nike branded outfits during matchdays, along with the occasional promotional activities for his club and country.
Ante drives the 2020 Mercedes Benz GT-Class, which costs $69,950. As dangerous as the winger is on the football ground, in contrast, the Croatian international is as much loving and caring off the pitch.
The 26 years old international owns a golden retriever and a boxer. As such, the footballer is a keen lover of nature and wildlife. We can see it through his various social media handles.
