The Apple Valley and Eagan communities are mourning the loss of Bart Casperson, a devoted teacher, coach, and father whose impact stretched across classrooms, ballfields, and countless young lives.

Casperson passed away on July 12, 2025, at 10:45 AM, surrounded by loved ones. He had been battling liver cancer for just one month.

Bart was a longtime teacher at Apple Valley High School and a dedicated coach with Eagan Baseball, where he helped shape not only athletic skills but character and sportsmanship in young athletes.

In a heartfelt tribute, the Eagan Baseball Association shared:

“It is with heavy hearts that Eagan Baseball sends its condolences to the Casperson Family from our 14AA team. We lost an amazing dad, teacher, person, in Bart Casperson, who was surrounded by his loved ones this morning. Our thoughts are with Kendrick and Cody and the rest of their family as well as our 14AA team.”

Casperson was more than a coach as he was a mentor and role model to his players and students alike.

GoFundMe Has Been Organized For The Beloved Soul

Bart leaves behind his wife, Cody, and their two sons, Kendrick (14) and Theo (6).

The suddenness of his passing has left the family grappling with emotional and financial uncertainty.

To support them, friends and community members have launched a GoFundMe campaign, which has already raised over $11,000 of its $35,000 goal.

The fundraiser reads:

“Bart leaves behind his wife, Cody, and two boys, Kendrick, 14, and Theo, 6. This loss is unimaginable. Cody faces the overwhelming reality of raising two children without Bart by her side. We are raising funds to help Cody and the boys navigate the financial burdens that come with this sudden loss. The funds will help cover immediate and ongoing expenses as they heal and support each other during this difficult time.”
