Arizona H.S. Athletic Coaches Hall of Famer John Kashner Leaves Behind Former Wife Sue And Five Children

John Kashner, a renowned Arizona high school football coach serving as interim athletic director at Vista Grande High School, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, at the age of 74.

Casa Grande Union High School District took to its official social media page to announce the death of John Kashner, its beloved coach and athletic director.

Kashner, who was inducted into the Arizona High School Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022, showcased his amazing coaching skills as the head coach of Casa Grande, Flowing Wells High School, and Coolidge for over three decades.

Moreover, beginning his coaching career as the head football coach of Casa Grande Union High in 1979, the late John led the team to several victories throughout his tenure.

He further served as the head coach of Flowing Wells High and Coolidge, winning several honorable titles, including Region Coach of the Year three times, Area Coach of the Year four times, and many more.

The untimely passing of John Kashner has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Similarly, the whole Casa Grande community is currently mourning the loss of their beloved longtime coach and educator, John Kashner, and sending their heartfelt condolences to his former wife, Sue Kashner, and their kids during this difficult phase.

While very little information about Sue Kashner is available, according to John Kashner’s Facebook page, he separated from his wife a long time ago.

It seems he was in a relationship with John Kashner’s Legacy Lives On Through His Children And Grandchildren

The late John Kashner shared four daughters, named Jennifer, Allison, Heather, and Amy, and a son named John Kashner Jr. with his former wife, Sue Kashner.

Moreover, the late John Kashner’s son, John Kashner Jr., followed in his footsteps in sports and became one of the top quarterbacks in Southern Arizona, playing under his father.

However, very little information about John’s son, John Jr., is available as he prefers to maintain a low profile.

The late John Kashner often shared pictures of his children and grandchildren on his social media, expressing his love for them.

His daughter, Heather Kashner, owns COR and has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C., and the Baltimore Area for over three years.

Prior to that, she served as the Member of Chief, a private network executive for women in Maine, United States, and State and Local director of Emily’s List.

Furthermore, she also served as the Country Director and Senior Advisor of the National Democratic Institute in Kosovo, Washington, D.C., and Uganda for 10 years and as a consultant to the Prime Minister of Kosovo.

Beginning her career in 1994 in Pennsylvania, Heather Kashner also served as director of purchasing for packaging and sales director of Lutron Electronics Company.

John’s daughter Heather also excelled academically.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Law from Lafayette College in 1993, and later received dual degrees in Consulting and Coaching for Change from the University of Oxford and HEC Paris, completing her MSc at HEC in 2005.

Likewise, the late John Kashner’s other daughter, Jennifer Kashner Fry, also thrives in her career.

Jennifer currently serves as the recreation manager of the City of Grapevine in Dallas. Prior to that, she was the Aquatics Supervision and Recreation Coordinator of the City of Grapevine for over ten years in Grapevine, Texas.

Similarly, Jennifer worked as the City of Hurst’s senior activities center director for over five years.

She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Western New Mexico University.

Very little information about his two other daughters, Amy Alexander and Allison May, is available as they prefer to maintain a low profile.
