Skattebo’s extraordinary efforts earned him the Offensive MVP title for the game, an accolade rarely assigned to a player from the losing team.

According to OptaSTATS, he became the first player this century across FBS, FCS, and the NFL to record at least 100 rushing yards, 75 receiving yards, a passing touchdown, and a two-point conversion in a single game.

Furthermore, he is the first player in over 26 years to win the Offensive MVP award in such circumstances.

Cam Skattebo’s Journey In Football

Born in Rio Linda, California, Cam Skattebo began making waves at Rio Linda High School. He rushed for an astounding 3,550 yards and 42 touchdowns in his junior year, leading his team to a state championship.

Despite his high school achievements, he received limited recruitment offers and committed to Sacramento State.

At Sacramento State, Skattebo had a breakout season in 2022, rushing for 1,382 yards and earning Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year honors.

His impressive performances also earned him All-American recognition at the FCS level.

Transferring to Arizona State in 2023, he quickly became a key player, breaking records and finishing fifth in Heisman Trophy voting in the 2024 season.
